It’s Kendrick!

Hello World! I’m Kendrick, the new triathalete and the guy who is using this CNN challenge to change his life. I have to admit that if I had to sum up this experience in one word it would be “difficult!” But perhaps it should be, I was a full-fledged coach potato with a special relationship with fast food drive thrus. I have been training for over 7 weeks and I have noticed that I am building endurance and able to swim, bike, and run further than I could when I first started. I am also noticing that my pants are looser and I am having to tighten my belt. This is just beginning, I have about 20 weeks until the New York Triathalon in August, and I am taking it one day at a time.

You may wonder why the blog is titled “Accept the Journey,” I came up with this name because in the past I spent too much time feeling sorry for myself that I had I allow myself to get so big (345 pounds to be exact), but now I am doing something about it and I realize that this is the journey that has been laid out for me and now I must accept it! I now “Accept the Journey,” and will document it on this blog as well as the CNN Fit Nation Blog, that includes the ups and downs the good days and the bad days. I am excited, I hope you are and will join me!
